Year: 400 CE
The moon creeped higher into the night sky, and shouts of celebration could be heard from a tiny village in India. They were celebrating the union of Sersi and Ikaris, two of the fellow eternals residing in their village to protect them from the deviants. Phastos and Makkari were on the dancefloor, dancing with Thena and Gilgamesh. Druig and Kingo were scarfing down food as if it was their last meal, and Sprite and Ajak sat at a table, watching the commotion. Sersi and Ikaris were making their rounds, thanking everyone for coming and joining them tonight. It was a beautiful sight, everyone had a smile plastered on their face.
Amid the dancing and the celebration, Ajak felt a sharp pain in her chest- a sign that Arishem wanted to speak. She stood, motioning to Sprite that she would be just a minute.
She headed to a quiet place just outside the village and sat, clearing her mind by taking several deep breaths before she was transported to Arishem.
“Ajak. I have brought you here to let you know that I am bringing you a new eternal when the next sun rises fully in the sky.” Arishem’s voice boomed, echoing off the vast nothingness.
“A new eternal?” Ajak was confused… this wasn’t part of the original plan. She didn’t want to question the celestial too much, but curiosity was nagging to get the best of her.
“Yes. I’ve decided to try out a new creation.”
Ajak nodded, not wanting to push her luck by asking anymore questions. Anticipation and anxiety began swelling inside of her.
“What is her purpose in the overall plan?”
“The same as yours. She will aide you in preparing for the emergence,” Arishem explained.
“Anything else I need to know?” Ajak asked.
“This Eternal… be attentive of her. Unlike the rest of you, she could adapt and change as she grows, including her powers. She can make or break the entire mission. You must make sure she stays on the right path… or you will have to answer to me.”
Ajak nodded, before closing her eyes and being transported back to her quiet spot in the mountains. When she returned to the celebrations, Sprite watched her closely and intently, waiting to figure out what Arishem had said to her. Ajak didn’t notice Sprite follow her into the mountains, especially since she was back to the table before Ajak returned.
“So… what was that about?” Sprite finally gave in and asked once she realized Ajak was going to keep quiet.
“I want to tell everyone at once. When the party dies down, we will meet.” Ajak responded, looking around the room for her Eternals. They were all almost exactly where they were when she left. She smiled, feeling the anticipation of a new family member bubbling up inside of her.
Shortly after the celebration, all ten eternals gathered in the mountains near the spot Ajak sat earlier. She had asked them all to meet her there earlier and stood waiting for them to hike up the small mountain.
“So, Ajak, what did you need to talk to us about?” Ikaris ask, reaching for Sersi’s hand and giving it a small squeeze.
“Yes, and please tell us why we could not have met closer to the village,” Phastos asked, sighing as he sat on a nearby rock. If there was one thing he hated, it was hiking for no reason- and even then, it would have to be a good reason.
“Thank you all for meeting me here. Earlier tonight, I spoke with Arishem. He called while we were celebrating,” Ajak paused, reading everyone’s faces to gauge their reaction.
“And?” Druig asked, impatient with his leader.
“We have a new Eternal joining us tomorrow.”
An unbridled gasp left everyone’s lips, as shock overcame them.
“A… new Eternal?” Sersi asked, a little taken aback.
“Yes. Supposedly, Arishem created something new he wants to try out. That was all he told me. She will be arriving tomorrow around midday. I’m not sure how, or where. I just know when.” Ajak finished explaining.
They all looked amongst each other, taking in this new information. Druig took this opportunity to look into their minds, curious as to what they were thinking. They were all wondering the same thing: what was new about her? He decided to be the one to speak up.
“This doesn’t sound good Ajak. We know nothin’ about this new Eternal. What if they disrupt everything we have created?”
“Druig has a point. This seems reckless of Arishem,” Kingo said, looking to Sprite for support. She nodded her head, silently agreeing with them.
“We’ll just have to deal with that when the time comes. There is no turning back from this. We will accept this new Eternal with open arms and help her adjust and grow into her power. She will be a part of this family, just as you all have with each other.” Ajak said sternly, before dismissing herself back to her hut.
“I’m a little excited,” Makkari signed, trying to lighten the mood. When Druig dipped into her mind, he realized she was the most excited out of anyone in the group. It made his skin crawl.
“It would be fun to meet someone new like us,” Sersi added, smiling at Makkari.
“If she causes trouble, we always have Thena,” Gilgamesh chuckled, wrapping his arms around the beautiful Thena who stood next to him, who smiled and nodded.
“I still think is ridiculous,” Druig said, annoyed that his fellow Eternals were warming up to the idea.
“Druig, is there anything you’re ever actually excited for?” Phastos asked, purposely trying to annoy him.
“Food. That’s it,” he answered, before walking back to his hut.
The rest of the Eternals discussed the possibilities of this new Eternal and all her glory, recognizing at the very least that she must be important for Arishem to have created her, as they headed back to the village.
Druig had been alone back in his tent for a solid half hour before he saw the flap draw back and a short Makkari stood in the entryway.
“Hello Makkari,” he gave her a soft smile. Out of all his fellow Eternals, Makkari was his favorite. She was kind and gentle, always ready to back him up… until tonight.
“Why are you upset about this?” Makkari signed, looking at his face for answers.
If he was honest, he wasn’t entirely sure. Something about this new Eternal gave him anxiety. His senses were now hyper aware, picking up on people’s thoughts unprecedented. When he was stable, he could control whose mind he read and whose he didn’t. But when he was stressed, anxious, or mad, he lost that control. It annoyed him, which, ironically, just made it worse.
“Just a bad feelin’,” he signed back, before sitting on the edge of his bed.
“What kind of bad feeling?” Makkari asked, moving to sit next to him.
“I just feel like somethin’ is about to go disastrously wrong.”
They were quiet for a few minutes as they both took in what he just said. Makkari didn’t have any comforting words, so instead she placed her hand on his shoulder, bringing her forehead to meet his. Their bond was special, strictly platonic, but full of passion and emotions, nonetheless. Delicate, yet solid and firm. They understood each other without words, and they always had each other’s back. The other Eternals were surprised they were not together romantically because of this- but it just never felt right for them.
“Don’t worry about me, I’ll be a’right”, Druig signed, sensing Makkari was growing tired. She gave him a soft smile, before returning to her hut.
Druig laid his head down, dreadful for the morning light to come.
** the next day **
The feeling of serenity and peacefulness flooded your body, as Arishem brought you to life. The sensation was strong as you began to feel every fiber of your being be shaken awake with the jolts of electricity. The blood began to rush through your body, creating a ringing in your ears. The feeling was euphoric, as life itself pumped through your veins. When you fluttered your eyes open, you saw Arishem and the infinite cosmos behind him. Behind you was a tiny blue and green orb, with white swirls dancing on its surface.
“Y/N. You are being sent down to Earth to join your fellow Eternals. Look for Ajak- she is your leader. She will have the information you need.” Arishem ordered, as his hand curled underneath you. Within an instant you were hurled down to the planet Earth, the wind rushing all around you. Fire begins to build around you, as you broke into Earth’s atmosphere.
Before you even understood what was happening, you met the earth with an intense thud powerful enough to render you unconscious.
Makkari felt the vibrations coming from the mountains and ran to see what it was. Expecting a deviant, she was surprised to see a crater where your bruised body laid, your legs bent in an unsettling way. Her stomach churned, seeing you in the state you were in. Why would Arishem take so little care of how you got here? She wondered, before running off to find Ajak.
“The new Eternal is here… but she is in bad condition,” Makkari signed once she found Ajak.
“What do you mean?” Ajak asked. They began to head up the mountain pass, the rest of the Eternals following closely behind.
Makkari never answered Ajak. She wasn’t sure she could even accurately express the state you were in, second guessing what she saw.
When they reached the crater, Ajak gasped.
“Oh my,” she said as she slipped into the crater to your body. She began to run her hands over your injuries, trying to heal you before you woke up.
The rest of the Eternals stood at the top of the crater, giving Ajak her space.
“Why is she so beaten up?” Kingo asked, his voice breaking ever so slightly.
“It looks like this is where she landed. If she’s so important, you’d think Arishem would have had her descend slowly, and not hurl her down here,” Sprite spoke up, already beginning to question your existence. Sersi looked at her sternly.
Druig’s jaw clenched as he watched Ajak closely. She was already working her way up to the scratches and burns on your face. He felt the anger rising in him already, thinking of how Arishem cared so little for his own creations.
“Gilgamesh, can you carry her to the village and lay her down in the temple? She can stay there while we prepare a hut for her. I think she’ll be out for a while longer; the burns will take a while to finish healing, but they should be good on their own to continue.” Ajak said.
“Sure thing, Ajak.” Gilgamesh responded, jumping down into the crater. He carefully picked your body up, making sure to give your head support so you didn’t have a sore neck from the hike back.
“Now we just have to wait for her to wake and let us know who she is.”

Sunlight glittered through the small windows of the temple, illuminating your body lying on a row of prayer mats. It had been an hour since Gilgamesh brought you here, your injuries almost fully healed. The burns on your face had scabbed over, shrinking ever so slightly by the minute. When he laid you down, he stayed with you for a few minutes, making sure you were truly out before leaving you to rest. Gilgamesh may be the strongest Eternal, but he was a big softie at heart.
You began to stir, gaining consciousness. Your eyes fluttered open, before instantly squinting again, a beam of sunlight streaming right into your face. You sat up, looking around the room you were in. It was highly decorated with colorful materials and gold statues. There was a shrine against the back wall dedicated to a god you did not recognize, but a million little candle flames illuminated the colorful material casting a kaleidoscope haze around him. Your eyes moved to the mats you were laying on. They were made of a soft muslin material, the color a velvet red. The material looked nice against your tri-color Eternals suit that had a bronze base, with orange and brown accents throughout. A small crown sat on top of your head as well, made from the same bronze as your suit, with orange dragon snap flowers decorating it. You touched it, making sure it was still there.
Ajak, you suddenly thought to yourself. You had forgotten why you were here, distracted by the beautifully adorned temple. I need to find Ajak. You attempted to stand, but your legs ached from the fall. You had broken them cleanly, which made healing easier, but the phantom pain was catching up to you. You groaned as you pushed yourself up completely, taking a minute to get used to the pain. Slowly, you made your way to the door, but right when you reached for the handle, it suddenly turned before slowly opening.
You jumped back, stifling a painful moan as you did.
“Oh, you’re awake! I’m sorry if I scared you, I was just coming to check on you.” It was Gilgamesh. He hadn’t been able to stop worrying about you lying there alone. He wanted to be there before you woke, but it seems he was a few minutes too late. You looked at him, a little weary and a little hopeful. Was this Ajak?
“I’m Gilgamesh, one of your fellow Eternals.” He said, watching as disappointment spread on your face. He was not Ajak.
“I won’t take that personally, I assume you’re wanting to find Ajak,” he chuckled. You nodded your head slowly, still weary of him.
“Alright, follow me, I’ll take you to her.”
Gilgamesh pushed open the door and you squinted, the bright light instantly blinding you. You raised your hand to block the sun as you took a few steps out of the temple. Many humans were bustling about, chatting with one another as they did their designated tasks for the day. Some women were in the field, picking today’s ripe fruit, while others sat around small fires, preparing dinner for their families. You couldn’t help the warm smile that spread on your face as you watched the humans interact with one another.
You followed Gilgamesh up a small hill that led to a rather large wooden structure. Gilgamesh told you it was Ajaks’ house, before he knocked hard on the door. It startled you, which led to him give you an apologetic look. Everyone else was used to his strength, it felt weird to him that you weren’t yet.
The door swung open, and a beautiful lady stood before you, dressed in a blue and gold suit like yours, she adorned a crown like yours as well, minus the floral embellishments.
“Ah, you’re awake!” She cheered, clapping her hands together. She had been anxiously waiting for you to wake, excited to learn all about you.
“Please, come in, and thank you Gilgamesh,” Ajak turned to him, giving him a look that held a double meaning to it. He smiled, before heading back down to the village.
“I’m Ajak, the leader of the group of Eternals here. Do you have a name?” She asked you, pulling out a chair for you to sit. You mentally smacked yourself for not introducing yourself sooner.
“I’m Y/N” you said, offering a polite smile. “Arishem sent me to you, he told me you would know my mission.”
“Ah, yes. Our mission on this planet is to protect the humans from the Deviants. They are nasty and powerful creatures that humans have no chance of fighting. That’s pretty much it. We just try to help the humans as much as we can, without interfering. It’s a very thin line.” She chuckled, thinking of the times they’ve accidentally crossed those lines.
“Are you aware of your powers yet?” The question sparked something in you that you didn’t know existed. A golden light with a slight orange tint began to glow out of your hands. You looked down, shocked, and confused. Thunder began to rumble in the distance, the bright light from the sun suddenly dimmed to darkness.
Worriedly, Ajak stood and walked to the window of her hut. Thick black clouds fell over the village, light illuminating from them as the thunder rolled almost continuously. You stood, following Ajak to the window.
“Apparently this…” you trailed off, watching as the storm surged in. People below ran to shelter, grabbing what they could.
“Are you able to stop it?”
“I’m not sure how, but I can try,” you said, closing your eyes. Following your gut, you took several deep breaths. Soon, you saw the orange glow of the sun through your lids. Opening them, you smiled. The clouds were gone, and the setting sun was low in the sky, just as it had been when you first casted the storm.
“Wonderful job!” Ajak praised, excited to watch your power grow and develop. You smiled sheepishly, before asking the one question that had been on your mind.
“Are there others like us?” You asked, turning to face her. Her eyes warmed, her smiled widened as she shook her head: yes.
“When can I meet them?”
“Whenever you feel you’re ready. There is 10 of us: Gilgamesh, who you met, Thena, Ikaris and Sersi, they just got married, Sprite, Kingo, Phastos, Makkari and Druig.”
Druig. The name hit you like ten thousand volts of electricity, and you swear you saw the sky flash a bright white. There was something about his name that felt familiar to you. Druig… Druig… Druig… you repeated in your head, as Ajak continued talking. Something felt eternal about his name, infinite, as if it was engraved in stone in your mind, forever there waiting to be read. To be heard. To be spoken. You were unsure why none of the other names hit you the way Druig’s did. You hadn’t paid attention to anything Ajak had said, but when you finally came back to your body you noticed she was looking at you expectantly. Shit.
“I’m sorry… I think I zoned out.” You admitted, a dark crimson finding its way to your cheeks.
“It’s alright. It’s a lot to take in.”
“I think I’d like to meet the others now.”
“Perfect, we’re all just about to meet for dinner!” She exclaimed, moving to the door. You followed her, back down the hill to the village. There was another large hut opposite of the temple bustling about with people. It looked like a dining hall. You smiled at all the friendly faces you made eye contact with, eager to meet every individual here.
Ajak led you to a room adjacent to the dining hall, hidden behind a beautiful curtain. The table was set for ten, but before you could ask where your seat was, a tall man came in carrying an extra seat.
“Ah, thank you Phastos,” Ajak smiled, watching as he made room for your chair.
“No problem, I figured our new eternal would appreciate a chair to sit at,” he joked, chuckling to himself. After moving your chair in place, he walked over to you, extending his hand.
“I’m Phastos and it’s very nice to meet you…” he trailed off, waiting to catch your name.
“Y/N, and it’s nice to meet you too,” you offered him a warm smile as you shook his hand.
He was about to ask you another question, when the rest of the Eternals made their way into the room, settling in their chairs. Your face flushed, feeling a little nervous standing up.
“Everyone, I’d like you to meet Y/N,” Ajak boasted, motioning to you. You scanned their faces, trying to remember their names as Ajak called them off. When she got to Druig your breath hitched in your throat as you made direct eye contact with him. His stare was ice cold, causing an uneasy feeling to spread through your body. In the distance you could hear thunder rumbling but no one else seemed to hear it. Breaking eye contact, you looked up at Ajak who was motioning for you to sit. Dread flooded you as you realized your chair was right next to Druig.
Timidly, you moved to sit next to him, a sense of longing awakening deep inside of you. It made you want to reach out to him, to touch him, to touch his soul, but after his sideways glance at you as you sat, you figured it was best not to.
As everyone ate dinner, they introduced themselves to you again, telling a little bit about themselves as they did so. You learned that Phastos was a genius, Sprite was a spunky little thing, and that Makkari was absolutely stunning. Sersi and Ikaris could barely keep their hands off each other but made an effort to listen to you tell a little bit about yourself when the time came.
“I’m Y/N. I’m not really sure what my power is, but I’ve learned it has something to do with controlling the sky, but I’m still figuring it all out,” you said, shyly. You felt small, not having much to say about yourself.
“Do you remember Olympia? How is it?” Sersi asked.
“Olympia?” You asked, confused on what that was.
“Yeah... our home. Do you not remember?” Phastos asked, a little taken aback.
“I’m sorry… I don’t remember Arishem mentioning an ‘Olympia’.” You said, afraid you’ve disappointed them. They all exchanged a look that caught your attention; It was a look of worry.  It was fleeting though, as Ajak cleared her throat.
“Well, Y/N, we are glad you are here,” she said warmly. You smiled, feeling grateful that the uncomfortable tension was gone. Well, gone from everyone else. Druig hadn’t said a single word all night. You couldn’t shake the longing feeling, no matter how hard you tried, and it only got worse the longer you sat next to eachother.
It was really starting to piss you off, and you could feel the electricity in the air as your anger intensified. Who did he think he was to just sit here and ignore you like this? It was rude. He barely knew you and was already deciding you weren’t good enough for him. A loud clap of thunder threw everyone off gaud, instantly turning to look at you. Your cheeks were burning hot, the attention only making things worse.
“I’m sorry,” you said, as another clap of thunder roared overhead. “Excuse me, I need to get some fresh air.” You stood, nearly knocking your chair back as you ran out of the room.
“Oh, an Eternal who controls the weather? This will be interesting,” Kingo said, chuckling to himself. Sprite hit his arm but couldn’t contain the smile on her face.
“Do you think she was mad? Druig, can you find out?” Makkari signed. She noticed his distant stare all night, and the way he tensed up around her. Something was up for sure.
“I could, but that doesn’t mean I’m going to,” Druig responded, his voice thick with disdain.
“Really, are you ever any help? I mean you have the one gift that can let us know if we upset her and you’re just going to choose not to use it?” Phastos asked, annoyed with Druig.
“I agree with Phastos here Druig…” Ikaris said, choosing his words carefully.
“Oh, of course ya do, anything to be against me, right?” Druig said, before standing up from the table.
“Where are you going?” Makkari asked, worried.
“Nowhere,” he signed back, before leaving the room.
The truth was, he was coming to find you. He felt the same tension you felt, and he knew he was an ass for it. He wasn’t trying to be rude; he just didn’t like the way he felt around you. Ever since he heard of your existence it made him anxious, a feeling he wasn’t used to. When you had sat down next to him, he felt his entire world shift off its axis, and into an orbit that was unfamiliar to him. Your pull was strong, magnetic, torturing him to stay in his seat. He wanted so desperately to reach for you, to touch you, to caress you. The feeling was overwhelming, and it scared him. He had never felt this way, and the fact that he was feeling it towards someone he barely knew made him just as uneasy.
Raindrops began to fall from the sky, which he instantly knew wasn’t a good thing. They were light drops, delicately falling on his face. He had no idea where you ran off to, so he decided to use his powers just this once to try and find you. As he slipped into your mind, he unintentionally heard your thoughts—he couldn’t help himself, they were so loud. He was taken aback, almost falling to his knees as he listened. The emotions were so raw, so human. Vulnerability lived inside your head; the insecurities evident. You were afraid you had done something to upset him, to upset the team when you couldn’t remember Olympia. You were frustrated with your ability to alter the sky, how could that possibly be useful in a fight?
As the thoughts waged a war with themselves in your head, his heart softened. He wanted to find you, to let you know you were okay, you were safe, you were here. Just as he was about to reach into the subconscious to find where you were, he heard a low growl from behind him.
Fuck.

1520 CE ; Aztec Empire
Loving Druig was easy. So easy, in fact, that after a millennium, it felt like no time had passed at all. As if you had only just met yesterday. Civilizations came and went, rules and customs changing along with them. But your love for each other stayed consistent through it all, only growing in passion, lust, and vigor. Your once stolen kisses turned public as you no longer wanted to hide your affections towards each other. Your once secret affair was now a very much public one, a love that inspired the civilizations to write stories of romance.
To mere humans, a millennium was a fantasy, something that brought about stories of a “cure” for mortality. You were aware of the tremendous luck you had to have known your lover for so long; to have eternity with him. Throughout time, you were made constantly aware as friends you made discovered love for themselves, only to pass what felt like moments later. Every time Druig would hold you close, knowing your affections for the humans surpassed anything he ever felt.
But within that same millennium where your love with Druig grew, your tense relationship with the eternals only deteriorated. Thena’s visions worsened, causing sporadic attacks from her which you easily defended yourself against. Druig always ended it though, flooding Thena’s mind with a peaceful lullaby he found to be successful. One of the more recent times, Druig had slipped into Thena’s mind, only to hear the same whispers that once plagued your mind, afflicting hers. He brought it to Ajak’s attention who just brushed it off. This infuriated him, but he kept quiet, thinking Ajak had a reason to keep it discrete.
So he vowed to always make sure he was there to help Thena come back to herself. Only a small part of him did it to protect you- he knew you could take her on your own now without help. His main reason was to protect Thena- not wanting her to ever feel like you once felt- especially knowing he was the only one that could stop it. That guilt would have been too much for him to handle, and he knew Thena was always grateful for his interference- even if she didn’t directly say so- he could hear it in her mind; the whispered ‘thank you’s’ in her own voice.
By this point, the eternals hadn’t seen a deviant in centuries and had started to turn their attention to helping civilizations grow. Phastos created exquisite creations as gifts to the humans, wanting to help them progress as much as he could.
The eternals had also officially moved back into the Domo instead of residing in the villages and empires they were helping. Since they travelled so often, it just made sense. However, there was not a spare room for you since Phasto’s didn’t want to give up his second office. But you didn’t mind, you preferred to share a room with your lover anyways.
The last millennium had been alright- you became used to the distrust from the others, and while it annoyed you, you just kept to yourself, letting Druig take up every thought and feeling in your body.
——
“Phastos, give it a rest. They’re okay at the moment with what we’ve already given them,” Ajak said, placing a firm hand on Phastos’ shoulder, who merely sighed in defeat.
They were all gathered in the Domo hanging out for the day. There was little the Eternals could do, seeing as the city was at a crucial turning point: civil unrest spreading as the recent change in leadership created insecurity in the empire. Ajak’s strict rule of not interfering with their quarrels meant you were helplessly watching as they grew hungry- both literally and metaphorically- as they demanded something be done. It hurt your heart to see them like this.
“Ajak, has Arishem said anymore about what we’re supposed to be doing?” Kingo asked, watching out the window as a fiery protest went on in the city. He felt sad, useless as he just sat and watched the humans attempt to break down the gates of the empires’ palace.
“No, he has not.” She answered curtly, growing a little frustrated at the Eternals curiosity with their mission. She could sense their distrust in her and Arishem growing.
“We haven’t seen a Deviant in centuries, is our mission over?” Druig asked before biting into one of the fruits a woman in the city had given him earlier in the week.
“No, our mission is not over until he tells us it is.”
“Big shock,” Druig muttered under his breath, before getting up to go find you, tossing the apple aside.
You hadn’t joined the meeting, not wanting to create any disturbance with Thena seeing as she wasn’t having a good day. Instead, you were in your room, cuddled under the blankets, a book in your hands that one of the humans had written just for you. She had even taught you their language so that you could read it.
A soft knock was heard at the door, before Druig peeked his head in, smiling when he saw your figure under the blanket.
“What’re you doin’ in here m’lady ?” He asked, jumping in the bed next to you, his arms snaking around your waist before he rested his hand on your breast. You smirked at his cheeky actions before answering.
“I knew Thena was having a bad day, so I just came in here. Didn’t want to disturb anyone.” Druigs face softened at your explanation. He hated that you had to walk on eggshells, careful not to say or do the wrong thing around everyone. He wanted nothing more than for you to just be yourself around them, like you were with him.
He nuzzled his head into your neck before whispering, “you’re too patient, darlin’.”
“I know I know,” you responded, snuggling deeper in his embrace. He placed a soft kiss to your neck, then another, and another, as he made his way up to your lips. He kissed you passionately, swiping his tongue along your bottom lip. You deepened the kiss, setting the book down on the night stand before tangling your fingers in his hair. He repositioned you under him, his hands roaming your body, over your curves and soft skin, before dipping his hand between your thighs.
“Already so wet for me my love,” he whispered against your lips, his fingers slipping around your folds. He moved his digits back and forth, drawing a whimper from your lips. Your hands tightened in his hair, tugging ever so slightly as he increased his speed.
“Feels so good,” you said, pulling him closer to you- as if that were possible.
He smirked, before slipping a finger inside you. He slipped in another, moving faster as he dipped down to your neck, nibbling at your skin.
“Think ya can handle more?” He asked, teasing your entrance with a third finger. You held back a chuckle, knowing he knew damn well you could handle more then three fingers.
“I want something bigger,” you whispered, smirking, while pulling at the hem of his pants.
“Well, well, well, aren’t we eager.” He pulled back. You frowned at the sudden lack of contact.
He threw his pants off to the side, his underwear tight against his body as his erection grew bigger at your pleading eyes.
“Lay down,” he ordered. You did as he said, moving to lay at the foot of the bed, your head hanging slightly off the edge. He came closer to you, releasing his throbbing cock from the restrictive cloth surrounding it.
Without warning he shoved his cock into your mouth, his hand gripping around your throat to steady himself as he pumped mercilessly into your mouth, sparing you little air to breathe.
“Just like that my pet,” he grunted, his grip tightening slightly on your throat. You began to choke as he hit the back of your throat, the feeling almost too much for him. He pulled out, leaving you gasping for air as your spit strung off his dick, pooling on the floor below.
“Such a good girl,” he said, before leaning down and kissing you sloppily, his tongue dominating yours. He helped you sit up, grabbing your hips to help position you on the bed.
“I need you Dru,” you pleaded, grabbing onto his arm to pull you closer.
He smiled in response, before plunging his cock deep inside of you, hitting your spot almost instantly. His hand quickly covered your mouth as you yelled out in pleasure, the feeling of his dick filling you up intoxicating you.
“Shhh,” he whispered in your ear. “Ya want them to hear how good your master is fuckin’ you?” He asked, as he pounded into you. You shook your head no, tears brimming your eyes as you felt your core grow hot, your orgasm coming too quickly for Druig’s liking.
“Not yet darlin’.” He flipped you over, giving your ass a rough bite as he placed a pillow under your belly to help give you support. You were going to need it. You turned back, giving him a smirk as he readied himself behind you, gripping your hips again, bringing you onto his cock. A loud moan escaped your lips and you gripped the sheets as you felt him push into you.
“Fuck, baby, ya feel so good,” he moaned. He pushed you down forcefully until you were flat on the bed, his right hand finding its way to your shoulder for extra support as he continued to plow into you. He moved his other hand to find yours, gripping them tightly as he tried to keep himself from screaming- something you were on the verge of doing.
“Let them hear you,” he threatened, slowing his pace but increasing the thrust. He was trying to get you to scream. He moved his hand from your shoulder down to your clit, rubbing it delicately. He knew you were on the verge of overstimulation, and wanted to push you just over the edge.
“Fuck, Druig!” You screamed, coming undone, causing him to also come undone with a loud moan. You couldn’t help yourself. He smirked, knowing damn well the others heard from the other side of the wall, as a muffled, collective groan could be heard. You let your head fall to the bed, panting heavily as your orgasm moved through your body, the euphoric tingling feeling spreading. He leaned down, placing soft kisses to your shoulder as he slowly slid out. You moaned again, the feeling leaving you empty and exhausted.
He felt proud as he stared at your limp body on the bed, drenched in sweat. He moved your hair our of your face, placing a gentle kiss to your temple, before falling behind you in the bed.
“Nothing better than an afternoon delight,” he whispered, pulling you into him.
There was a bang on the door, causing you to jump slightly.
“Go away,” Druig yelled, placing a hand over your ear as he did so, not wanting to disturb you.
“You guys, it’s important.” Sprites voice carried through the door. She sounded hesitant, clearly aware of the position you were both in. You looked up to Druig, a sudden anxious feeling washing over you.
“Give us a minute,” you yelled, hopping out of the bed to pull on one of the dresses the villagers had mad you. Druig hurriedly thew his clothes on from before, not caring how wrinkled they were from laying on the floor.
You threw open the door, untucking your hair from the collar of the dress and walked into the common area. Everyones eyes were on you, an uncomfortable tension hung in the atmosphere. You rolled your eyes, wanting to just be mature about the situation.
“What was so important that you had to disturb us,” Druig said, irritation evident in his tone.
“Okay, first of all, never do that again,” Phastos said, clearly disgusted with what he had heard. You and Druig both smirked while looking at each other, a small giggle coming from you.
“Oh come on, really?” Phastos murmured, turning away from the both of you.
“Enough. I think we need to step in…” Ajak said timidly as she stared out the window.
“Great, Druig can just do his thing… well his other thing,” Kingo offered, nodding his head at Druig, flashing him a cheeky smile. Druig chuckled in response giving you a smirk. You rolled your eyes.
“No. We can’t interfere like that,” Ajak responded, turning to face the rest of the eternals.
“So how do you suppose we help them?” You asked, confused at what she expected of you.
“I don’t know.” She whispered. Ajak was clearly defeated, unsure of what to do next. It had been centuries since Arishem had spoken to her, and anytime she reached out, she was met with silence. She could feel the Eternals growing restless as well, especially as Thena’s mind continue to fracture, her attacks growing more frequent.
“What do you mean you don’t know?” Druig asked, clearly frustrated with his leader. You placed a hand on his arm to tell him to chill out. He pushed it off. You glared at him, unsure where this sudden attitude came from, as he took several steps away from you. What the fuck?
“I mean that I do not know Druig. I need to figure it out. Excuse me.” She said timidly, dismissing herself to head to her room.
“The fuck was that?” You asked, turning to Druig.
“What?” He spat. You had never seen Druig act this way toward you. You could feel part of you break at the way he spoke to you. In the past millennium Druig had spoke with nothing but love and admiration in his voice. This sudden appearance of his temperament direct at you left you stunned.
You shook your head in disbelief, scoffing as you turned to head out of the room.
“Where are you going?” Sersi asked stopping you in your tracks.
“Does it matter? Not like you guys trust me enough to be in here.” You said, annoyed. You shot her an apologetic look, knowing she didn’t deserve the way you spoke to her, before leaving.
“Dude, what’s wrong?” Makkari signed as she slugged Druig on the arm.
“I don’t know,” he signed back, before sitting on the one of the ledges overlooking some celestial flowers.
“Okay, well you need to figure it out,” Makkari responded, giving him a weird look. He rolled his eyes in response, which pissed her off. She went and sat on the ledge across the room, giving him his space.
Everyone was quiet, the tension in the are was uncomfortable. Thena slowly made her way to leave the room, everyone too caught up in the awkwardness to notice as she slipped out. She was on her way to find you, the thoughts becoming overwhelming loud in her head.
You had left the Domo, entering the village. The protest was getting rowdy, cries for justice ringing in the air as they pushed further to the palace. Women and children cried in the streets, their frail bodies bringing tears to your eyes. You turned, heading to the forest just outside the village, wanting to be alone.
The forest was dark and damp reminding you of the light rain from earlier in the day. A low fog was rolling in from the lake just up ahead- the exact direction you were headed in. As you walked deeper into the forrest, the fog thickened, reducing your visibility.
A twig snapped behind you causing you to turn abruptly, eyeing what little of the forest you could see. A speck of gold caught your attention on your left just in time for Thena to pounce, swinging her golden sword above your head. You ducked quickly while groaning internally. You were not in the mood to deal with this bullshit.
“Really? Of all times?” You mutter under your breath as she lunged for you again, her sword going for your stomach. You moved just in time, cursing as she nicked you slightly. You yelped, stumbling back. She came towards you again, and you dodged her attack, rolling out to the side. She groaned, twisting her sword as she turned to find you.
“You can’t fool me Fulgora.”
“Oh my god, seriously Thena! I… am not… Fulgora!” You yelled in between hits, your anger getting the best of you. You were trying not to summon a storm, not wanting to cause more chaos in the village.
Instead, you slammed your fist on the ground, the trees falling around Thena from the earth quake you conjured. You ran over to her, straddling her lap. The once hanging vines from the tree now wrapped themselves around her wrists, binding them above her head.
You fist repeatedly connected to her face as you yelled, “I am Y/N. I am an eternal. I am not-”
“Y/N!” Sersi yelled, cutting you off. Your eyes met her shocked ones as the rest of the Eternals fell in line behind her, staring at you in horror. You looked to your fist, Thena’s blood ran down your wrist. It took everything in you to move your gaze to Thena’s face, badly beaten and already bruising.
Druig ran to you, knocking you off of Thena and to the ground. You let your body fall limp on the ground, exhaustion and depression fully consuming you as what you just did began to register in your mind. Druig was whispering your ear, but you didn’t hear a word he said, too numb to pay attention.
“Y/N, what happened?” He asked, but he was met in silence as you continued to stare at the sky above you, a single tear rolling down your cheek. The faces of the Eternals were replaying in your head, the look of shock, horror, and disgust.
Ajak was already healing Thena’s face as she laid unconscious on the ground, Gilgamesh right by her side holding her hand.
Makkari slowly walked to where you and Druig were, kneeling down at your side. She placed a hand on your cheek, pulling you towards her. It was her gentle touch that finally made you break. You began to sob, rolling over to face her, her arms instantly wrapping around you, holding you tight against her.
You sat like that with her for the next two hours, your trembling body pressed up against hers. Her silence was comforting as she gently rubbed your back, waiting patiently for your sobs to stop.
When they finally did, she looked down to see your eyes shut tight, your tear stained cheeks swollen from releasing all the emotion fro your body. A tear fell from her own eyes as she looked down to the dried blood on your wrists. You didn’t deserve to feel this type of pain. The rest of the Eternals had left already, each of them giving you a disturbed look as they left.
She kicked Druig awake. He never left your side, but eventually fell asleep. He didn’t want to, he wanted to stay conscious by your side until you stopped, but exhaustion overcame him.
Makkari kicked him harder and he snapped awake, sitting up immediately. He looked to where you were and found you asleep in your arms.
“I’ll take her back to the Domo,” Druig signed, moving to grab you out of Makkari’s arms, who nodded as he did so.
He gathered you in his arms, lifting you up as he headed back home, Makkari following at his side. The walked in silence, neither of them really wanting to talk about what they dealt with tonight.
When they reached the doors of the Domo, they walked down the hallway together, before Makkari touch his arm gently, signaling she was leaving. He mouthed a ‘thank you’, and she nodded her head before disappearing down her own hallway.
Druig walked a little further, before stopping in front of your door. He struggled a bit before gettin it open, kicking it closed with his foot. You were still asleep, nestled against his chest. He looked down at her, sighing softly as he noticed the dried blood.
“What did you do, Y/N,” he whispered, placing a kiss to your temple. He still was clueless as to what provoked you to beat Thena that badly. But he knew you wouldn’t have done it had it not been needed. Druig laid your body down on the bed before grabbing a bucket filled with water and a rag. He went over to your side of the bed and pulled up a chair. Dipping the rag in the water, he squeezed the excess water out and then placed it on your wrists, scrubbing gently, attempting to get the blood off.
It was a time-consuming task as dried blood didn’t come off easy- especially when he couldn’t scrub super hard, not wanting to wake you. The moon was already settled high in the sky by the time he finished, placing the bucket against the wall and climbed in the bed with you.
Tomorrow was going to be rough.

Ok on to the story... <3
Tumblr media
The eternals were all gathered around the meeting room they were in the day before, discussing what research they had done on Thena’s episodes, attempting to figure out how to stop it from happening to anyone else. They all came up empty handed, unsure as nothing like this had been reported in human history. But of course, Thena wasn’t human. Druig reminded them of this, that human ailments would not be the cause… but no one had listened.
Thena was growing impatient, as the guilt overflowed inside of her.
“Ajak, please, you have to examine what’s wrong with my head,” Thena pleaded. She sat herself up on the slab you had laid on only yesterday. Druig had to look away, the memory of you was too much for him to handle. It had only been 24 hours, but he could not get the sight of you in your final moments out of his head.
Thena laid down, and Ajak ran her hand over Thena’s head. It took a few moments to feel deep enough. Finally, Ajak could get a clearer picture of what was going on inside her mind as she felt the vibrations of her mind fracturing underneath her hand. Mad Wry’ry. She had heard of it before in passing from Arishem, but didn’t think it was real. She tapped Thena’s shoulder, signaling her that she was all done.
“Thena, dear. You have Mad Wry’ry. Something must have gone wrong the last time Arishem cleared your memories. Your mind is fracturing under the weight of your memories. All I can do is erase them so that you can start over. I will have to inform Arishem.”
“But she won’t be Thena anymore.” Makkari signed. A few of the eternals nodded in agreement, looking at Thena solemnly.
“Yea? What if it happens again,? What’s stopping her from killing any of us now that she killed Y/N. “ Druig spat, anger flowing through his veins.
“Please… please I want to remember. I want to remember my life,” Thena begged, looking to Gilgamesh for support.
“Thena, I love you. But listen to me. It’s not important if you remember or not, your spirit will remain. You will always be Thena deep inside. Trust me.” Ajak said, placing a hand on hers.
“Trust you? Why should she trust you? You’ve done nothing to help her in the past. You let this happen, Ajak, you could have prevented this!” Druig’s anger only grew as the seconds passed, his mind wandering back to the memories of you, lying in his arms, cold and gray, and then to them memories of him pleading with Ajak to help Thena.
“Druig, I know you’re upset, but…”
“Upset?!” Druig yelled, cutting Ajak off.
“We’ve trusted you for 7,000 years, and look where you’ve gotten us. I’ve watched humans destroy each other when I could stop it all in a heartbeat. Do you know what that does to someone after centuries?  I had to watch the love of my life die because of you, Ajak. Because you wouldn’t figure this out sooner! This is your fault. Could our mission have been a mistake? Are we really helping these people build a better world, huh? We’re just like the soldiers down there. Pawns to their leaders. Blinded by loyalty. I warned you so many times!”
“It ends now.” Druig turned, facing the war going on below. His eyes began to glow, as he reached into all of their minds, making them drop their weapons.
Suddenly, he was shoved against the wall. It was Ikaris.
“Let them go.”
“You’re gonna have to make me.”
“Stop.” Ikaris said, stepping closer to Druig, trying to intimidate him. Druig just raised his chin, initiating a challenge.
“If you want to stop me, you’re gonna have to kill me.”  Druig said, as he brushed past him, turning his attention back on the villagers.
He gathered himself, gaining control of them once again as he began to descend down the stairs. He wasn’t sure where he was going to go, but he didn’t really care. He just wanted to be away from here. He knew how deeply you loved these people, how deeply you cared for them, and because of that, he would keep them secluded, away from any danger, protecting them for generations to come. All for you, the last piece of you he had left.
The eternals watched in silence as the villagers blindly followed Druig into the woods, disappearing altogether entirely.
“You all may go. The Deviants are gone, there is no reason for you to stay with me.” Ajak said, dismissing her fellow eternals. A few piped up, trying to prove their loyalty to her, but she didn’t want to hear it. Druig was right, as much as she hated to admit it.
“I want you to live what life we have here on this planet. Go find the things you love, in Y/N’s honor.”
***
Druig led the villagers deep into the wilderness, away from their city. He settled them down by a river, a place he knew you would love dearly. There was an abundance of trees to keep them sheltered from the outside world, yet plenty of land available for farming and building houses on. His own small little grove.
He stopped in the middle, the villagers following suit, stopping around him.
“I am Druig, your god. I have brought you here to escape the life you once lived. You will start new here, all of you under the same title: villager. I will be your ruler, none of you will overpower another. That was your issue before, and I  have come to correct it. You will also serve your goddess, Y/N. She will be who you pray to, who you dedicate your lives to. I want a temple made in her honor, decorated in beautiful reds, oranges, and purples, with an altar made for her inside.” Druig told them, before releasing control of their mind. They all looked around at one another, slightly confused, but began to follow their instructions.
A temple was made out of wood from the best trees the villagers could find. On the inside, pews were built for prayer, and an altar was placed in front of them. The women had sewn together a beautiful tapestry, decorated with  outlines of marigolds and dragonsnaps  against an orange painted background.  The altar was decorated with jewelry, written songs of praise, the stories written of you and Druig’s love,  and art pieces one of the ladies who befriended you had drawn, using you as her muse.
Lastly, Druig adorned your headpiece on the mantle. He had found it in the woods that night on his way back from the lake. At some point, Thena must have knocked it off. He caressed it as he placed it there, a tear springing to his eyes. He remembered the first day he met you, seeing it adorned on your head. You must have been important to Arishem, as the only other one to have a head piece as Ajak. He wondered what Arishem’s purpose for you was, why you were sent to them. It made no sense to him.
Of course he wouldn’t have changed any bit of what happened, but he still didn’t understand why it happened. And he was especially curious as to how there was no punishment from Arishem himself if you were that important to him.
He’d just have to wait to find out, he supposed.
Druig found other ways to keep your honor alive in the village. He declared every sixth day of the week to be a day  in remembrance of you. Every evening on your day, the villagers would gather together in song and praise, while partaking in the bread you had loved so much.
As the centuries passed, your presence in the village never faded. The temple’s altar only grew in abundance as the families in the village grew.
Back in his hut, Druig had your blanket draped on his cot. He couldn’t bring himself to sleep most nights, wanting to protect the people you loved so dearly, but he always wrapped the blanket around him while he sat in the bed. He didn’t care that it became ratty and tattered as the centuries passed, he still clung to it all the same.
Every night he prayed to you, hoping you could hear him. He updated you on all the village happenings, he’d talk about how much he missed you, and always bring up a funny memory that had seeped into his brain of the two of you. It always made him feel slightly better.
When it came to the other Eternals, only Makkari knew where he was. She had visited him shortly after he created this new village.
“You know Y/N wouldn’t have wanted this,” Makkari signed, looking at the enslaved village people who were currently worshiping you. She had been staying in the village for a short while now, but she was growing concerned with Druigs mental state.
“I have to keep her memory alive Makkari. You don’t understand” Druig said, sternly.
Makkari looked at him with pity, which just set him off.
“If you don’t like it then leave. I don’t need you.” He spat, pushing her off of him. She had gone in for a hug, thinking that was what he needed. She looked at him, stunned. He hadn’t spoken to her like this ever, and his words stung.
“You will be lost forever keeping up with this.” Makkari signed before leaving.
Druig had no idea where she had gone; she never came back to tell him. But he no longer cared. He no longer cared for any of his fellow “family”. They took you from him, so why should he care what any of them had to say about the way he was ruling this village?
But as the centuries passed, Druig eventually found his peace. His anger faded into annoyance, his sadness faded into bittersweet memories, but his joy… his joy never came back. He grew into a belligerent ruler, with little patience for stupid actions and mistakes, but deep down he still cared. He cared because he knew you would. He often thought about how you would comfort him, placing a firm hand on his shoulder, giving him a stern look. So  he’d show mercy occasionally, to let them know he still loved them through you.
The villagers continue praising you every sixth day of the week. They grew new traditions, new dances and songs, new memories under what they believed to be your influence. They looked forward to your day, where they got together with everyone and, essentially, party.
Throughout all time, Druig stayed loyal to you, never taking another lover. He knew certain women had little crushes on him, wanting so desperately for him to give them attention, but he never did.
He couldn’t.
“I will always stay loyal to you, my beautiful beautiful Y/N, just as you were always loyal to me.”
“Y/N. You have failed in your mission.” Arishem’s deep voice boomed against the cosmos, as you floated before him. Your hands were bound behind your back and your mouth sewn shut with cosmic string. Looking around, you realized where you were, and you began to fear what was about to happen. Failed your mission? You weren’t given one  besides fighting alongside the Eternals.
“You can struggle all you want, but there is no use. You cannot escape cosmic strings. You were sent to divide the Eternals apart, which you have done. But you were not supposed to die. You were supposed to be stronger than that. Something, or someone, distracted you. I could kill them-”
You cut Arishem off, trying to scream in protest at him killing Druig. Arishem chuckled.
“But I won’t. I can only spare one Eternal for the Emergence, and it cannot be him. Instead, you will wait on cyro until the time is right, where you will train harder with the greatest army, until you prove you are ready to return to Earth and help summon the Emergence. I will let you keep your memories if you prove your loyalty to me. Which should be easy for you.
“I heard loyalty is what you’re good at,” Arishem boomed, before whisking you off onto another planet for combat training:
Asgard.

You were back in the temple attempting to calm down when you heard it, the low growl that immediately heightened your senses. Deviants. You rushed to the door, only to stop at it, hand hovering the handle, doubt instantly flooded your mind. No. I can do this, you thought to yourself as you gripped the handle, flinging the door open.
It was pitch black, sending you on high alert. Grunts could be heard in the distance, and somehow you instantly recognized them. Druig. You broke off into a run, following the sounds as he fought off a Deviant. The other Eternals had already joined him, trying to disband the large group of Deviants attacking the village.
“Nice of you to join us,” Kingo said as soon as he spotted you, a slight smile appearing on his lips. You took it as a lighthearted joke and joined in to help. Sersi and Ikaris were tag teaming a Deviant, Ikaris floating above while Sersi attacked on the ground. Thena and Gilgamesh had four cornered, taking turns with each one, before Thena inevitable struck the final blow, slamming her golden weapon straight through their heart.
You weren’t sure what to do exactly. Your body was telling you one thing, but your mind was telling you another. Everyone else was so focused, throwing aside Deviants as they killed them. They had trained for this; this was their purpose. You weren’t so sure it was yours though. As you went with your gut, you summoned a lightning storm focusing on your targets to strike. As you lowered your hand, lightning came down, striking two Deviants and nicking Sprite on the arm.
“Shit!” She yelped, holding her arm, and breaking her illusion. Fear flooded you as you realized what just happened. Fuck.
“Oh my god, I’m so sorry Sprite,” you said, running to her side. Ajak was already there starting to heal Sprite from the burn the strike caused.
“It’s okay, just get on the three I had,” she mumbled, wincing from the pain.
You nodded your head, turning to see the three Deviants were moving in on you. The two you had stricken were mildly injured, only limping a little on their back leg. Raising your hand, you summoned lightening again but quickly changed your mind not wanting to hurt anyone else. The Deviants were getting dangerously close to you as you tried to figure out what to do. Hell, you weren’t even sure what all you could do.
“Watch out!” Before you could make any sense of what happened, Kingo had already shot two of the three Deviants with his energy blasts. The third one was just about to leap on you when you were hit with a great force, knocking you several feet away. Arms were around your waist and your head, squeezing tightly. You stirred and they let go, stepping back. You looked up, shocked at who you saw. Druig. He turned, hurrying off to finish off the fight as you laid there, completely out of breath.
To say you were frustrated with yourself was a drastic understatement. The thoughts return, hammering you harder than before. How did you manage to nick Sprite when you were looking at the Deviants? You looked over to her, she was almost done healing, Ajak focusing intently on the injury. I need to apologize… you thought to yourself, getting to your feet.
“Hey, S-Sprite… I’m sorry. I don’t know how I got you. I guess I just need to train a bit,” you said.
“You think?” Sprite said bitterly, causing your face to turn a bright shade of red. You were embarrassed and hurt.
“Now, now Sprite, it was an accident,” Ikaris teased from behind you, startling you slightly.
“Maybe so, but it hurt like hell,” she mumbled under her breath.
“I can help you train Y/N,” Makkari signed, smiling brightly at you.
“Really? That would be amazing, thank you,” you signed back, smiling right back at her. It warmed your heart that she offered to help; no one else seemed interested.
The Eternals began to depart to let the villagers know it was safe. You turned, ready to head back to the temple for the night when you were caught dead in your tracks. Druig was staring at you intensely. You couldn’t read the look on his face, but it didn’t seem to be a happy one. What was his deal? Finally deciding enough was enough, you stormed up to him.
“Look, I get it, I fucked up. I don’t know what I’m doing, and if you’re going to look at me like that after rescuing me, then don’t.”
“Don’t what?”
“Save me. I appreciate you doing it, but not if this is how it’s going to be. I don’t know why you can’t just be a bit understanding and empathetic that I have no idea what the hell I’m meant to do here. The one thing I’m supposed to do is kill Deviants, and I can’t even do that. So, the last thing I need are the disdainful looks you give me,” you yelled, rage overtaking you.
His face softened as your words sank in. He was doing it again, being an asshole. Opening his mouth, he tried to speak, but the words wouldn’t come out. This only angered you more, that he had nothing to say. Oh, how he so desperately wished words would come out, any words, even if they weren’t an apology.
“Seriously… you have nothing to say?” You asked, anger deeply evident in your voice.
“Guess not,” he spat, the words stinging like venom as he said them. Shit, he thought to himself.
You huffed, before turning and walking away. Angry tears started to form in your eyes, but you quickly wiped them away. You weren’t sure where to go, Ajak hadn’t shown you a place to stay yet. She probably forgot with how crazy the day had turned with the attack. You headed for the temple, figuring it was a safe place to stay for the night.
“Y/N!” Sersi yelled from behind you. “Where are you going?”
“Oh, well I was just going to stay the night in the temple,” you responded.
“Why?” It was clear she was confused, but you weren’t sure you could answer her question. You didn’t want to paint Ajak in a bad light and cause anymore issues then you already did.
“Well, I, uh, I’m not sure where else to go,” you said slowly.
“Oh, follow me! We were warned of your arrival, so we had enough time to turn one of the vacant huts into a home for you.” Sersi turned beginning to walk further into the village, away from the Temple. You didn’t like that your hut would be farther away from the one place you felt safe and secure.
“How are you feeling, after the fight?” Sersi asked.
“Embarrassed. I don’t know what’s wrong with me… I just feel so… disconnected,” you opened up to her.
“Oh, don’t feel embarrassed. It’s been a weird day for you, you have a right to feel a little off today. You only just got here and didn’t even get a chance to settle in yet before a Deviant attack. It’s a lot for anyone, even an Eternal, to take in.” Her kindness instantly resonated with you as you realized she was right. It was a lot to go through in one go. You were about to thank her when she suddenly stopped. In front of her was a rather large, yet modest abode, completely furnished.
“This is yours!” Sersi said, excited to check out how the villagers had decorated it. She followed your lead as you slowly stepped inside. The place was decorated in bright materials and paints, with gold accented in the décor. The living area was highly decorated with oranges, purples, reds, and golds. There was a long chair, covered completely in floral material. Your bed had a beautiful, hand-woven blanket on it made from cotton dyed a vibrant orange and red. Next to the bed, on a small wooden table, stood a vase filled with orange Marigolds.
“It’s beautiful,” you whispered, taking it all in. The village people had created the perfect home for you. They matched the colors of the Temple, adding in the floral embellishments to match your aesthetic. You had never felt such love and dedication before. The villagers had made you a home, a sanctuary, a place for you to feel warm and secure. They had made you your own Temple.
“Isn’t it,” Sersi said, as she too looked around. She had moved to a window in the living area, admiring a bouquet of Marigolds, when she saw him, his eyes glowing, bright, and golden. She smirked, before turning back to you.
“Well, I better go find Ikaris before he freaks out that I’m not with him,” Sersi said, moving to where you were in the bedroom.
“I just want you to know that tomorrow is a new, brighter day. You just need some rest.” She hugged you tightly, hoping you weren’t beating yourself up too hard for today. You nodded, grateful for her kindness.
As Sersi left, you felt a sort of peace wash over you. You didn’t like being alone, so far away from everyone, but for some reason, maybe because of how closely resembled to the Temple your home was, you felt at peace.
You moved to the dresser that sat in your room, pulling out one of the drawers to find it fully stocked with clothing. You grabbed one, a light, tan linen shirt, and quickly changed into it. You weren’t sure what to do with your Eternals suit, so you placed it safely in the bottom drawer. I’ll ask Makkari about it tomorrow, you thought to yourself, running your hand over the metal material of your suit, before closing the drawer.
The colorful blanket was soft, comforting, melting away all your troubles the second you wrapped it around you. This was a magic blanket, you decided, as you snuggled under it, letting all your troubles fade away into the dark abyss of your dreams.
“What did you do,” Sersi asked as she walked up to Druig, punching his arm lightly. He was still off in the distance, watching your hut closely, intently, listening for any dangers that may be lurking in the night
“I don’t know what you’re talking about, Sersi.”
“Oh, come on Druig. Drop the angsty, bad boy act for a second. Be real with me.” She pleaded, her eyes looking at him softly.
“Alright. I controlled the villagers to decorate her home to how I thought she’d like it.” Sersi wasn’t expecting him to open up to her, and it caught her off guard. She blinked a few times before responding.
“Druig… that was kind of sweet of you. A little creepy, but we can work on that.”
“Yeah, yeah, just don’t tell the others.” He mumbled, a small smile forming on his lips. Sersi wrapped her arm around his shoulders, giving him a reassuring squeeze.
“So…” he said after a few moments of silence. “Did she like it?”
“She loved it.”
It was true… Druig did have a heart. A heart that yearned for you. Longing to hold you in his arms, to hold you close to his heart. Desperate to feel your hands on his skin, moving delicately over his scars, touching every inch he had to offer you. He hungered to feel your skin, tracing every perfect imperfection, kissing every freckle, and feeling every strand of hair on your head. Making sure you never felt those dark and brutal thoughts that snuck their way into your head earlier that night.
He just had to learn how to not be an asshole first.

You had never given much thought to how you would die. You assumed it would be when Arishem no longer needed you, returning you to the planet you were from for you to live organically until you passed of natural causes. Of course, you didn’t know what planet you actually came from, but you assumed you had to have come from somewhere.
There would be a funeral, and all your loved ones would surround you, singing songs of praise and love to you as they disposed of your body in whatever customs that planet had set for the dead. You hoped you would be remembered well beyond the time you died, stories of who you were being passed down for generations.
So when you were faced with death prematurely, it riddled your body with anxiety, every fiber of your body ached, afraid for what was to come. Your vision ceased, and Druig’s piercing scream faded away.
***
The two of you had returned to the Domo in the early afternoon, after packing up the picnic materials from your date the night before. When you had returned, you were shocked to find the Eternals gathered inside the common room, yelling at one another.
It was hard to make out what they were yelling about, as all of their voices overlapped one another.
Makkari caught your eye, and quickly ran over to where the two of you, loomed quietly in the entryway.
“What is going on?” You signed.
“Thena is getting worse. She attacked me yesterday. Today she almost attacked Sersi. She thinks we’re threats,” Makkari explained.
“This is so strange,” you said quietly.
“You!” Thena yelled, pointing a finger in your direction. You gulped.
“What Thena?”
“All of this started when you came! This is your fault.” She was in tears, a sight you had never seen before. Thena was breaking down right in front of you, falling to her knees and holding her head. You wanted to rush to her side instinctively, holding her close. But your thoughts were flooded instantly with memories of Thena attacking you. They had small golden streaks running through them, and you knew exactly who was behind this. Druig.
You remained standing, looking down at Thena as she knelt at your feet.
Suddenly, shouts could be heard from the village outside of the Domo. Everyone stopped yelling, turning their attention to one of the windows that overlooked the city. Streaks of orange could be seen as people with pitchforks began pushing into the city, heading straight for the temple where the higher officials resided.
“What is going on out there?” You said, making your way to the window. The villagers had finally revolted, moving their way into the city to make the changes that they were demanding for themselves.
You stared in horror as the city began to fall, chaos in abundance as city officials pulled out weapons Phastos’s had made them, and began to fire at the protesters.
“We have to do something, Ajak.” Druig said, already moving to head outside, Makkari right by his side.
Ajak simply nodded, as she watched her Eternals move to help the villagers. Your feet planted firmly on the floor, unable to move as you watched the tumultuous scene continue to unfold.
When she noticed you hadn’t moved, she made her way to your side, placing a firm hand on your shoulder.
“Y/N, I know we haven’t been kind to you, but please believe me when I say that you are the most powerful out of us. The villagers need you out there, as do we.” Ajak removed her hand, and made her way outside, preparing to fight along side her fellow Eternals.
You watched as Makkari zoomed around, pulling children out of harms way. There was a little boy standing in the crossfire that she hadn’t seen. A tall heavy statued got hit, and began to teeter on its base.
“No,” you whisper, activating the bracelet Phastos had made you to easily transform into your Eternals suit on the go. You began to move, running as fast as you could out into the city.
Your heart pounded in your chest as you pushed yourself to run as fast as you can, but you weren’t going to make it in time. You skidded to a stop as you saw the statue begin to fall towards the kid, who was still looking around helpless for his parents, unaware of what was about to happen.
You began moving your hands around each other, creating a powerful windstorm that you pushed towards the statue. It began to lean back, falling into the stairs of the temple. The guards who were previously sat there had enough time, and sense, to move out of the way.  The little boy turned to look at the you, and then to the statue which had fallen backwards. Fear creeped into his eyes as he looked back to you.
“It’s okay, let’s get you somewhere safe,” you whispered, wrapping an arm around him and pulling him away from the gunfire.
“Y/N!”
“Not now Thena!” You yelled back. She always had to show up at the worst possible moments. You just wanted to get this kid somewhere safe.
Suddenly, the atmosphere shifted around you, putting you on high alert. Everything moved in slow-motion, as you pushed the kid out of the way- who landed on the ground with a thunk- spinning on your heels to raise your forearm to stop Thena’s golden blade from striking him. You twisted, grabbing ahold of her blade from the underside, and flipped it away from him.
“What is your problem!” You yelled at her, as she continued to try and advance in your direction. You sent out a signal in the atmosphere to Makkari. You both had come up with a signal once you learned how to manipulate the air’s energy, sending her little signals of your location so she could find you. It finally came in handy, as she rushed over to grab the kid and take him farther away from Thena’s murderous rage.
“Everyone on this planet is going to die!” She yelled, creating a longer sword with her cosmic energy, and began to move towards you.
“What?!” You yelled, utterly confused at what Thena was talking about. You defended yourself from her blow, summoning lightning to strike her down. The trees bent to your will, dragging Thena into the forest. You knew you needed to take her farther away from the village, not needing to add to their war. Druig noticed from afar, and began to make his way towards you, signaling the others to follow.
“This planet will be obliterated. It is time,” Thena continued cryptically, as she struggled to get out of the grasp of the bark imprisonment.
“Dude, what are you talking about?” You muttered, pushing her further into the forest. The further you went, it seemed the men fighting followed. Once you were at least a safe distance away from the city you stopped, keeping your distance from the crazed Eternal at your feet.
With one swift motion, she created a blade thick enough to cut through the wood, setting her free. As if expecting that to happen, you slam your hand onto the ground, causing an earth quake to shake her down.
But she stood right back up. She was resilient, the best fighter on the team. No matter how many times you fought her before, she continued to adapt her skills, preparing new moves in secret that would leave you speechless.
The scars that decorated your body were all exclusively from these secret moves. She would study the way you used your power, found your weak spot, and managed to turn it against you. She was damned good at it too.
Thena continued on with her delusional talk of the planets end, and crazed antics of you being the villain, as she continued summoning weapons of all kind, swinging them effortlessly around, slicing your skin.
You were bleeding in multiple places already, as she continued to attack you.
The rest of the eternals were held up, as the villagers and the guards continued to battle one another.
If only they had gotten there sooner, maybe things would have ended differently.
Thena continued in on you mercilessly, never stopping her movements. She knew it took only a second to summon anything you could use against you, so she continued without a break, making sure to continue filling every second you had.
You cried out as a blade hit your cheek, blood immediately spilling out of it. You began to reach your hand up to touch it, but in that same second, Thena swung again, this time the blade hit your other cheek. She swung again, and again, until she had driven you onto your knees.
With one final swing, she brought you down on the ground, pain seeping every inch of your body as you laid helplessly. Even if you wanted to move, you couldn’t. There were so many cuts in your skin, her blades sharp enough to pierce through your suit.
In the distance you began to see the fellow eternals rushing over to where you and Thena stood. You smiled, anticipating Ajak’s healing hands running over your body soon, Druig’s voice sneaking into your ear, telling you how proud he is, and that everything will be just fine.
But the thoughts were cut short, as a piercing pain sheared through your chest. Druig’s scream rang through the sky, sounding as feral as a wounded animal as he ran harder to your side.
Your vision faded just as he made it, your skin began losing its color, turning into a dark, depressing grey. His cries echoed in your mind as he knelt beside you, picking up your lifeless body, his tears falling in pools on your cheek as he rested his head against yours.
“No! NO!” He cried, holding onto you tightly. “Ajak please, do something!” He cried out, tears now pouring down his cheeks. Her eyes began to fill with tears as well as she responded.
“Druig, I’m so sorry… but I cannot. I-” she choked on a sob as she came to your side. “I cannot heal what’s already gone.”
This is when he broke. His sobs became violent as he screamed out. His pain reverberated off the other Eternals, who all hung their heads in disbelief. Thena had ran off, her mind piecing itself back together just after she had pulled her sword from your chest. She was knelt behind a tree, her knees to her chest, sobbing.
Gilgamesh had found her, and instantly comforted her. When she had calmed down enough, he led her back to the group. This was a mistake.
Druig looked up at the sound of their footsteps, and gently laid your body back on the ground.
“You!” He yelled, standing to his feet. Ajak placed a firm hand on his chest, attempting to hold him back. He just flung if off, giving her a stern “don’t-fuck-with-me” look as he slowly made his way to Thena.
“You took her from me.” He said lowly, coldly, as he stopped right in front of her face.
“Please, Druig, I’m so sorry. I couldn’t control myself,” she whispered, tears streaking down her face once more as she looked to your lifeless body.
“I don’t care!” He shouted in her face, causing her to stumble back a few steps. Gilgamesh moved to be in between them. He had a look of sympathy on his face. He fully understood the complicated narrative at play, but he had to protect his lover, just as Druig would you.
So Druig backed off. It took everything in him, but he returned to your side, clutching your body to his chest once again. Makkari knelt in front of him, placing a hand on your grey arm, as tears fell from her eyes as well.
“Druig, we need to bring her back to the Domo, before people see.” Ajak whispered quietly, placing a gentle hand on his shoulder. He nodded his head.
He heard Ajak clearly, but he didn’t move. He wasn’t ready yet. Makkar placed a soft hand over his, leaning down to make eye contact with him.
“I’ll help you,” she signed, offering a small, sad smile. He nodded again, but his body didn’t move.
He felt empty, as if a part of him died with you. His heart  physically ached for you, longing to hear you breathe again, to feel your warm skin against his. Instead, your skin was ice cold and hard, almost robotic. All the tears he was attempting to hold back were released at this realization… you were just the vessel Arishem made and nothing more.
Your bright smile would never again flash against your lips. Your boisterous laugh would never ring out from your throat in the same way that your tantalizing moans would never sound again.
Druig lost more than just a fellow eternal. He lost his best friend. His soulmate. His favorite sound, his favorite color, his favorite smell, taste, all of it…
Gone.
Makkari was the one to lift your body up, carrying you back to the Domo, head hung low as she laid you on a marble slab in the meeting room. The rest of the eternals gathered around, sulking against the walls. Druig stayed in the woods, clutching his knees to his chest, feeling lost and hopeless without his light to guide him back home.
Home. The word felt so evil now. The domo wasn’t his home. You were.
Clashes of metal rang out, as the villagers continued fighting with the militant city officials, piercing screams of death filled the woods, just fueling Druig’s rage.
Earlier he had tried to mind control them, to end the fighting, but Ajak stopped him. He wanted so desperately to stop the pain, the suffering, the hurt. He had the power too, he could have even prevented your death had he just been there in time. Had he just ran a little faster. He played it over and over again, each time fueling the fire growing inside of him.
He had had enough.
With what little strength he had, he pushed himself up, and began to head to the Domo, his fists balled in anger. When he arrived, they were discussing your funeral ritual.
“Y/N loved this village so much, I think it would only be right to abide by their rituals,” Sersi said quietly, as she looked to Druig who walked in.
“I think she would like that,” Ikaris responded, trying to be supportive. This only pissed Druig off.
“I miss her,” Sprite whispered. Druig chuckled darkly.
“Take her name out of your mouth. None of you deserve to mourn her. You treated her like shit every minute she was here.  You never accepted her as one of us, she was just an outsider to you. And now are are actually pretendin’ to care? It’s hysterical, really. I mean you were all on Thena’s side and look where that got you.” Druig yelled.
Everyone there was stunned into silence, looking to the ground in guilt and shame. He was right. None of them had done anything to make your life easier on this planet, especially Thena, who was now sobbing.
“I hope you’re happy with yourselves.” Druig muttered, turning to look out at the villagers, the battle still continuing. It looked like there wouldn’t be an end in sight.
“I’ll go gather the wooden planks,” Ikaris offered, as he headed out of the Domo. Kingo offered to go with, following him out.
“Druig, when would you like to do it?” Sersi whispered, as she walked over to him.
“The sooner the better.”
And so it was done. Ikaris and Kingo built a pyre, lighting it. The flame grew higher and higher, as they continued to add the planks. Beneath where your body laid was a wooden box to collect the ashes to be buried later. Sprite and Makkari gathered as many marigolds as they could find, laying them around the base of the planks. Sersi and Ajak began reciting the prayers in native tongue, as they held hands.
Druig held the blanket he had one of the villagers make you back when you first arrived on Earth.  His original plan was to throw it in the fire with you, but he couldn’t let go of it. He clutched it tightly to his face, inhaling your scent as tears flowed freely  down his face.
He noticed movement to his left, and saw a few of the village women you had befriended making their way towards the fire, their arms full of offerings of all your favorite things, and an abundance of marigolds and other orange flowers.
A few of the children who also grew a deep fondness to you- how could they not- were now coming out of hiding, joining in song.
Soon, those who weren’t fighting were surrounding the Eternals, participating in song and dance as they celebrated your life, wanting nothing more than to bring good vibes to you in the afterlife. Druig knew you would have loved every second of this, had this been what was normal for your kind. But it wasn’t. You weren’t supposed to die… not like this.
He felt numb.
When it was finished, he gathered the box and began to head into the woods. Sersi stopped the villagers from following, but Makkari snuck her way through, following silently behind him. He made it to the shore of the lake, and fell to his knees, valiantly shaking as he sobbed into the blanket.
Makkari placed a hand on his shoulder, sitting next to him.
Together they sat, silently, the only sounds being that of Druig’s cries and of the lake softly hitting the shore.
When he was ready, he began to dig a shallow hole, before filling it with the ashes from the pyre. Before filling it back up, he stopped, and just began to talk.
“Y/N, my love, I am so sorry. I am so sorry I couldn’t get to ya in time. I should have ran. I should have done anything else differently. I promise I love you, I didn’t mean for this to happen. You were the love of my life, the light of my life. You were my rock, my soulmate.” He paused, wiping away some of the tears. “I will always remember you, Y/N. Always. My beautiful, beautiful, Y/N.”

Pain. Earth shattering pain. That was what you felt as you watched Thena's glittering sword pierce through your suit. You cried out, but only for a second before your vocal cords were silenced by the blood that pooled in your throat.
You felt yourself choking, before your vision began to fade, Druigs scream filled every inch of your mind before it all went silent. Oh, so eerily silent.
The next thing you know, you felt your body tingle before your eyes shot open, the cosmic air around you instantly filling your lungs.
"Y/N." A deep voice boomed, catching you off guard before you could take in where you were.
It was Arishem. You didn’t recognize him, but you just knew deep in your soul that’s who was before you. You looked down to see his gigantic hand beneath you. Behind you was the planet you were just on- earth- spinning slowly. Panic spread through you as you began to piece everything together.
Druig flooded your mind, and your stomach sank as you realized how quickly he was taken from you- or rather how quickly you were taken from him. You would never see him again, never see his beautiful face, feel his hands wrapped around you. Tears welled up in your eyes, as the memories played like a movie in your mind.
Suddenly, your hands were bound behind your back, and a sharp needle began to pierce through the skin around your lips, as cosmic string began sewing your mouth shut. You cried out, the needle-point pain making you sweat. Previous thoughts of Druig were cast aside for the moment, as you tried to process what was happening.
"Y/N. You have failed your mission."
Failed your mission? You thought to yourself. You weren't given one besides fighting alongside the Eternals- which you did until they turned on you. You began to panic some more, tugging at the strings that bound your arms.
"You can struggle all you want, but there is no use. You cannot escape cosmic strings. They cannot be broken by anyone but a celestial. You were sent to divide the Eternals apart, which you have done successful. But you were not supposed to die. You were supposed to be stronger than that- stronger than them. Something, or someone, distracted you. I could kill them-"
You cut Arishem off, attempting to scream behind the strings in protest at him killing Druig. He didn’t have to say his name, you knew exactly who he meant. Arishem chuckled.
"But I won't. He is needed for the Emergence. Instead, you will wait on cyro until the time is right, where you will train harder with the greatest army, until you prove you are ready to return to Earth and help summon the Emergence. I will let you keep your memories on one rather simple condition…” he paused, dramatically, his fire-lit eyes boring deep into your soul before he continued.
“You stay Loyal To Me.”

“Lady Y/N! It’s nice to see you again,” a voice came from behind you. You turned around, the armor you wore clanking as you did so, to see Thor Odinson walking down the hall.
“Thor, what a lovely surprise,” you smiled, nodding your head ever so slightly.
It had been centuries since Arishem had cut the cosmic string that once bound you to silence. After unthawing you from the Cyro, he sent you through the Bifrost to Asgard, your new home. You began in their army, working through the ranks until you fought alongside Lady Sif and the warriors three, Thor, and Loki.
Odin also had entrusted you with other missions, secretive ones that no one knew about, no one but your best friend, Loki.
“You cannot tell anyone Loki, I mean it,” you had said sternly, grabbing his wrist tightly. His eyes met yours, boring into your soul, before they softened. If it had been anyone else, absolutely anyone else at all, he would have used this knowledge to his advantage. But because it was you, pleading him so desperately to keep this to himself, he swore he’d never let anyone find out. He had a secret of his own…  He would have done anything for you, anything at all, because his love for you knew no bounds. But he’d never tell, he knew the love you had for Druig ran deep in your soul.
“I won’t tell a soul; you can trust me.” He had responded, resting his hand gently atop of yours, giving you a small smile.
You were entrusted with a grave family secret, the knowledge of Hela, Odin’s first born, and the destruction of the Valkyrie- Asgards’ elite female warriors. One remains: Brunnhilde, and it was your job to find her. So far, you had had no luck. Wherever she was, it had to be the furthest corner of the universe.
“Where are you headed? I’ll escort you,” Thor offered politely, after pulling you in for a long hug. You had just returned from a long expedition to find Brunnhilde, but you came up empty. You were on your way to inform Odin when Thor stopped you.
“That’s okay, I got my trusty steel, I think I’ll be okay,” you winked. Thor know you could easily take him in a fight, your powers- thanks to Loki- were fully in your control now, making you an easily undefeated target.
“Ah, that you will Lady Y/N. Do find me after you’re done, it’s a big day and I’d like my friend by my side!”
You mentally slapped yourself, you almost forgot. It was Thor’s coronation.
“Of course I’ll be there, Thor! I shouldn’t be long,” you said, smiling brightly as Thor nodded his head, before turning back down the hallway.
Once he was around the corner, you took a deep breath and headed for Odin’s meeting chambers. The guards stationed outside opened the doors, letting you in. The room was dark, covered almost entirely in gold and bronze décor. The candles gave the room a hazy atmosphere, the golden statues twinkling around the room. The room didn’t scream business, it screamed comfort, something you realized Odin prided in a bit too much.
“Lady Y/N, how was your trip?” Odin asked, his voice echoing off the golden walls.
“It was alright. There were no signs of Brunnhilde anywhere though. I think she may be gone, Odin, with all due respect. I’ve looked across the entire universe.”
“I suppose. Maybe it is time to give up searching. I appreciate your exhausted effort Lady Y/N, it does not go unnoticed. If we still had the Valkyrie, I know you would make an excellent fit.” Odin complimented. You bowed your head slightly, before taking your leave of the room.
The second the door closed, Loki materialized next to you, making you jump back your hand finding your sword next to you.
“Jesus Loki,” you said when you realized it was just him. “Don’t do that.”
“I couldn’t help it,” he smirked, before pulling you into a hug. “I’ve missed you,” he whispered gingerly in your ear. “It’s been so boring without you.”
“You’re telling me there wasn’t something you could have done to pass the time?” You giggle, knowing full well he spent the time playing pranks on Thor.
“It wasn’t the same without you. Anyways how serious are you about going to my brothers’ coronation, because I had an idea…” Loki trailed off as the two of you began to walk towards the great hall where the ceremony was going to take place.
“Loki, you know I have to be there for him.”
“Yes, but, it’s going to be dreadful,” Loki tried again to get you to not show. You gave him a quizzical look as you tried to read through him.
“What are you up to?” You asked, staring him down.
“Absolutely nothing, I don’t know what you mean?”
“Mhm. Well, we’re going. End of discussion,” you commanded, just in time to stop in front of the doors to the hall. Loki rolled his eyes, before following you in.
You found your place next to Lady Sif, as Loki made his way to the side near the throne Odin had set up in here. They had cleared out the long tables, making the area standing room only.
As the coronation began, you caught Loki looking at you, a guilty look on his face. An unsettling feeling began to wash over you, as you mouthed: what did you do?
Tumblr media
The rest of the coronation, and the events after were hazy to you; it all happened so suddenly. One minute, Thor was being honored and the next you were on the icy frost giants, fighting their men as Thor took revenge for them invading Asgard.
The cold, bitter air pierced through your skin. As you stepped to the side, hiding behind one of the frozen rocks, you noticed Loki off in the distance, one of the Frost Giants had him by the arm. His skin turned pale blue, just like the giant who held him. Your eyes grew wide, and before you knew what was happening, your head slammed into the rock you stood in front of, instantly blacking you out.
When you returned to Asgard you were in the infirmary for all of twenty minutes, before the healers deemed you were back to normal. You were on your way to find Loki, to talk to him about what you saw when you heard Odin’s voice booming through the halls.
“You are unworthy of these realms, you are unworthy of your title, you are unworthy of the loved ones you have betrayed! I now take from you your power! In the name of my father and his father before, I, Odin Allfather, cast you out!”
Thor protested but was cut short by guards dragging him out of the throne room to the Bifrost entrance.
“Y/N!” He yelled when he saw you, struggling against the guards. You called after him, but the guards had already rounded the corner. Shit, you thought to yourself. You had to make a decision quickly: find Loki or find Thor.
“Lady Y/N,” You whirled around to face Odin.
“Where is Thor going?” You asked hesitantly.
“To Earth, where I’m about to send his hammer. He must learn his lesson.”
“And what lesson is that? You know he only did what he thought was best-“
“Ah! That’s the problem, it wasn’t what was best for the realms, it was what was best for himself!” Odin yelled, cutting you off and catching you off guard. You stumbled back a few steps. In all your centuries here, Odin had never raised his voice at you. You could see the instant regret in his eyes, but you quickly bowed your head to him, before leaving.
Tumblr media
Later that evening, you found yourself beside Lady Sif and the warriors in front of the Bifrost. When Thor was casted out, Odin had fallen into a deep sleep, making Loki temporary king. Lady Sif had stood before him, pleading to bring Thor back, but the Loki on the throne was not your best friend. He was different, callous, and cold. You had looked at him with utter disgust when he threw the group out of the throne room.
“Who are you?” You questioned.
“What do you mean?” He asked, leaning forward, attempting to be intimidating. You stepped right up to the throne, walking up the shallow steps until you were truly face to face.
“You don’t scare me. I don’t know who you are, or what you’ve done with my Loki, but I will figure it out.” You sneered. He smirked, looking at you dead on as he leaned over to the guards.
“Cast her out too.”
Your face dropped, the anger rising inside of you. The sky began to darken outside, thunder rumbling through the castle.
“Ah, ah, careful now darling, you’re getting dangerously close to treason, something that would cast you out for good.” Loki smirked, before motioning for the guards to take you.
“This isn’t over!” You screamed, as they dragged you down to the Bifrost.
Heimdall gave you a sympathetic look, a nod that said he was on your side, and activated the rainbow bridge. Not even a second later the guards pushed you in.
Tumblr media
You woke up with an all too familiar feeling washing over you. Everything ached, down to your bones. You groaned as you opened your eyes. The sun was high in the sky, there was green grass beneath you. You soon realized you were in an oasis of grass, with a small river down the bottom of the hill you were on.
“Where the hell?” You asked yourself, looking around confused. Where the hell did you send me Heimdall?
Earth. The thought was loud in your head as Heimdall answered.
A sudden dark feeling washed over you. Earth… the last time you were on this planet you lost everything: the love of your life, your best friend, and your life.
That dark feeling turned into rage as the pain lingered in your body, your soul aching. The whispers that once filled your head on this planet suddenly returned, only they weren’t evil this time… no, you recognized this voice. It was light and bubbly, echoing it slightly as if they were in a vacant space.
The more you listened, the more you focused, the clearer the voice became…
Sersi.

A/N: if this felt rushed I do apologize, I did slightly rush this to spare you from recapping the events of Thor 1 that we all know very well!

His steel gray eyes met yours as he waited for you just outside the Domo, dressed in some of the finer linens from the village. One of the village matrons made you a dress, matching your orange and bronze aesthetic. You had pulled your hair back into a braid tied with an orange ribbon, with baby hairs framing your face. Druig had even convinced you to adorn your floral headpiece. It had been forever since you had actually worn it, usually too busy helping the villagers to ever need it.
Tonight, you were having a night to yourselves down by the lake. “A date,” Druig had said as he ran his hands down your cheek.
The past couple of days had been excruciating for you both as you and Druig stayed secluded in the confines of your room. You hadn’t left the bed, depression wearing on you as flashbacks to the fight with Thena played on repeat in your mind. The look on Sersi’s face, the look on Druig and Makkari’s, all of it echoing in your thoughts, leaving you weak and unable to move.
It took a promise to get you out of bed. A promise of normalcy. A promise that he wasn’t leaving. A promise to continue celebrating your love. It took reassurance that he didn’t look at you any differently, and that he still loved you just the same. It took all that and a helpful shove off the bed to get you up, and another tiny shove towards the shower.
When you got out of the shower, there was a single marigold sat next to a piece of parchment. You instantly recognized the scrabble as Druig’s handwriting, and smiled to yourself as you read the note.
Meet me outside when you’re ready, beautiful. x
You did as the note said, slipping on the dress Druig had laid out for you on the bed, and slipping into your sandals, braiding your hair on the way out of your room. Makkari was in the hallway. Druig had asked her to stay near your door to keep watch. When you saw her, your eyes instantly flooded with tears, blurring your vision entirely.
She pulled you in for a tight, reassuring hug. When you pulled back slightly, she rested her forehead on yours.
“It’s okay,” she signed, giving you a heartfelt smile. You squeezed her shoulders gently, holding back tears as you nodded your head. She placed a small kiss to your forehead, before letting you go.
You were nervous, constantly looking over your shoulder as you continued down the hall. The last thing you wanted was for this night to be ruined by Thena’s delusions. You had tried talking to Ajak about them, confused as to why Thena thought you were someone else entirely, making up an entire narrative- it couldn’t have just been a delusion then, could it? But Ajak merely brushed it off, saying she was not entirely sure what Thena meant with her visions. It was clear that Ajak still chose a side, and that side wasn’t yours.
When you reached the doors of the Domo you took in two deep breaths. On the third, you opened the door, directly meeting Druig’s gaze.
He looked you up and down, astonished by his beautiful lover standing before him. You were everything he had dreamed of and more. Captivatingly beautiful, gracefully intelligent, and outstandingly courageous. Druig couldn’t imagine a more perfect lover for him than you.
You offered him a small smile, placing your hand in his. He placed a gentle kiss to your hand, before leading you down the path he had tracked the day before, making sure to avoid the area of the fight.
The hike was silent, as you embraced each others company. The bird calls and the rustling of woodland creatures filled the silence, creating a relaxing ambiance. You looked around the forrest, grateful for this time outside, as you could feel the weight being lifted off your shoulders ever so slightly.
“Did I tell you that you look beautiful tonight?” Druig asked as he looked to you.
“I don’t believe you did,” you responded, smirking. He wrapped his arm around your shoulder, pulling you into him as you continued down the path.
“It’s a beautiful evening. Not too cold.” He was looking straight ahead as he spoke, nerves taking over him. He had sent thousands of years by your side, yet you still gave him butterflies. He wanted every moment to be perfect with you, knowing that the imperfect moments lay just in the distance, waiting to spring up and bring you down.
“It is.” You responded, leaning your head gently on his shoulder.
When you reached the edge of the forrest, you saw a blanket laid out on the shore of the lake, golden candelabras surrounded the blanket, creating a soft glow. There was a basket filled with food, and two glasses stood delicately on top of golden plates. Druig had put a lot of thought and effort into it, getting a little help from Sersi, who went into the village and gathered the items for him.
“Druig…” you trailed off, unable to form words to describe how you felt in that moment. He merely smiled and led you to the blanket, helping you sit. The sound of the lake slowly lapping against the shore added to the already peaceful ambiance, and the soft glow from the candle made your lover look warm and mesmerizing in front of you.
“This is all so beautiful and thoughtful,” you said, looking around at everything.
“Just like you,” he flirted, smiling cheekily as he opened the basket and grabbed some bread. There was a local woman in the village who made the best bread you had ever tasted in your time on earth. He made sure to get extra, just for you to enjoy.
The two of you ate and talked, enjoying each others company. Your boisterous laugh echoed off the lake, Druig’s deep chuckle complimenting yours perfectly. For the moment you were there, you felt free of all your convictions. Free of any voice thundering deep in your mind, free of the oddest feeling that you were meant for something more than this.
It had plagued your mind for sometime now, but you kept quiet about it, not wanting to give into the idea. But there was this little voice in the back of your mind, pleading - no, demanding that you go off on your own, that you explore what all this planet had to offer you… before it was too late.
You had ignored it though, afraid of what would happen if you told the others how you felt. Afraid they would be a little too welcoming of the idea, and afraid Druig wouldn’t understand.
But here tonight, on the shore of the lake, with your lover by your side, you felt at home.
After you both had finished your meal, Druig had took you by the hand, leading you down to the very edge of the shore.
“What are you doing?” You asked, looking at him confused as he wrapped his arms around your waist. Instinctively, you placed yours around his neck, and he began to sway, humming a soft tune. You recognized it as one of the songs that played in the village- one you had once complimented, saying how much you loved it.
You felt your eyes begin to water at the sweet gesture of him remembering your favorite food, your favorite song.
There was no denying his love for you, no denying his loyalty to you. You were his just as much as he was yours. Quickly blinking away the tears, you rested your forehead on his, swaying softly in the moonlight.
“I will always love you, Y/N. Through all time, on all planets. You will always be my beautiful, beautiful, Y/N. I want you to always remember that.” Druig whispered, as he softly brushed his lips against yours.
You smiled, allowing your lips to find his, deepening his kiss for just a few seconds, before pulling away.
“And I will always love you, Druig. Through all time, on all planets.” You whispered, smiling up at him.
The two of you danced in the moonlight for a while, just taking in the warm embrace of your lover. Druig’s hand ran up and down your spine, pulling slightly on your dress. You knew where his mind was going as you moved your head off of his shoulder to look at him.
He had a smirk on his face, eyeing you closely as his hand moved further down, bunching up the dress as he went.
Someone’s eager,” you say with a gasp, as his hand found your wet cunt, his fingers tracing delicate patterns around your folds.
“Could say the same about you,” he murmured against your lips where he placed a delicate kiss before sliding two of his fingers deep inside of you.
You gasped into his mouth, already beginning to feel euphoric as he slid his fingers in and out. He moved down to your neck, placing delicate kisses as he went. You moaned, griping onto his biceps.
“I want you,” you whispered between moans as you attempted to take his shirt off.
Druig shushed you, as he removed his fingers, and nodded to the blanket he had laid out for the picnic. After quickly moving the food and plates aside, you laid down on your back. He kissed up and down your body, worshiping your skin as he trailed his fingers gently across your skin. You felt as if you were in heaven, his fingertips leaving passionate hot traces on your skin.
He took his time, making sure you felt how much he loved you with every stroke, every touch, and every kiss. It was a selfless act of love. He did everything in his power to wait until you finished first, before finishing himself. It was his way of showing you that you always come first to him, nothing else mattered- not even himself.
***
The next morning you woke to the peaceful sounds of nature again, the morning birds chirping away while the small lake waves hit the shore. You stretched your arms above your head, a small smile finding its way on your lips.
“Good mornin’, how did ya sleep,” a groggy Druig spoke from beside you. Turning to face him, you placed a quick peck to his cheek.
“For once, I actually feel rested,” you whispered.
“Good.” He smiled.
A throat suddenly cleared behind the two of you, causing you to turn to look back at who was there. Ajak.
“Is this where you two were all night?” She scolded. This confused you… why did it matter where the two of you were for one night, after thousands of years of loyalty. Druig struggled in the mess of clothes to try and find his shirt to throw back on as Ajak continued. You wrapped the blanket around your naked body as you listened.
“There was an uproar in the village last night. Things are getting too hostile, and I believe it’s making Thena worse. She attacked Makkari last night. Something isn’t right, and we could have used your skills Y/N. Yet here you were, not with us!” Ajak yelled firmly. You were stunned.
“I know Makkari can hold her own, even against Thena, so I don’t see why we needed to be there?” Druig asked as he stood to his feet. He was growing tired of Ajak. He didn’t like the way she ruled over them, dictating their every move.
“Y/N could have protected Makkari even more. She is the only one who can take Thena, and she has a responsibility to protect her fellow Eternals.” Ajak said, her voice raising ever so slightly.
Druig scoffed.
“We are a family, Druig.”
“Oh really? Family huh? Sure doesn’t feel that way anymore.” Druig muttered, and began to pick up the remnants from the night before, handing you your dress.
“You know, you have real nerve calling us a family, Ajak. I had so much respect for you, but the way Y/N has been consistently treated, isn’t very family like. Holdin’ her accountable for things Thena should have been held accountable for, actin’ like Y/N is the only one who’s done wrong. Do you know the way you’ve made her feel? No, of course not. You haven’ been the one holdin’ her as she cried herself to sleep, the one hearing all the dark thoughts in ‘er mind, the one comforting her as she reflects on everythin’. I have!” Druig yelled, his accent getting thicker as rage consumed him. You had never seen him this angry, and neither had Ajak. But, despite that, you couldn’t help the smile that spread on your face as you watched your lover stand up for you.
Ajak stood still, taking in everything he had said. Her eyes briefly looked to you, but you looked away, avoiding her gaze. Her features softened, as she knelt to the ground before you.
“Perhaps I’ve been too harsh on you, Y/N. I am sorry,” she whispered, looking at you directly. You nodded, appreciating her apology.
“I… I don’t think I’m ready to forgive you just yet, but I do appreciate the apology.” You responded. Your eyes began to water, but you blinked them away, distracting yourself by tugging the blanket tighter that was still wrapped around your body.
“Just… return back to the Domo soon please.” Ajak whispered as she stood and turned to leave.
You grabbed your dress from the night before and quickly threw it on, just incase anyone else wanted to make an appearance. Druig continued picking up the items from the picnic as you sat there. You turned to look out across the lake, wishing you could just stay here forever.
“Thank you,” you whispered, still facing the lake, not making eye contact with him. He stopped, sighing as he moved to sit next to you.
“You don’t deserve how they treat you,” Druig said, wrapping an arm around your shoulder, his head finding its place against yours. You moved yours lower to lay on his shoulder.
“I wish we could just… leave.” You didn’t mean it, not entirely. As much as they hurt you, you still had a duty, a responsibility, if not to them, then to the humans who inhabited this planet.
“Let’s do it,” Druig responded, his tone serious.
“What? Druig, we can’t just leave?” Looking up, you gave him a bewildered look. As much as you wanted to, you knew he didn’t actually mean it. Just wishful thinking.
“Why not?”
“They need us, even if they don’t realize it.” You respond, resting your head back on his shoulder.
“Where would you go?” Druig asked.
“Somewhere warm and sunny, with a beach.” Druig took mental note, something nagging at him to save this piece of information. He smiled, imagining you laying beachside, stretching, your skin glowing against the sun. You belonged there, and he was going to make sure you got to go.
“We should probably get back though,” you muttered, dreading the awkward tension of your return. Druig nodded, his head rubbing against yours.
Yet neither of you moved, too comfortable to get up, neither of you wanting to face what was to come. You sat like that for what felt like forever, leaning on each other for support, before finally you stood and headed back to the Domo.

Asgard.
